Imagine Jesus Rejoicing Over YOU

How do you feel when you lose or misplace your car keys, money or some precious thing, search diligently and then find it? That is just a tiny picture of how Jesus feels when someone trusts Him.

Luke 19:10: For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Luke 15:10: Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Isaiah 62:5: For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

Zephaniah 3:17: The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

I read about a baby girl that was kidnapped when she was 19 days old. She was not found until 23 years later. The young woman had a feeling she did not fit with those who had raised her. Somehow she learned of the kidnapping and provided a DNA sample that proved she was the missing baby girl. Imagine the distress her parents went through and then their joy at being reunited with their daughter.

That joy cannot possibly compare with the joy of Jesus when He has made certain that someone He loves will be with Him in heaven forever instead of in the Lake of Fire. Jesus had that joy when you received Him and you will see His joy first-hand when He welcomes you to Heaven.

1 Thessalonians 5:16: Rejoice evermore.

Nehemiah 8:10b: Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

I pray those passages are not distant and meaningless to you. I pray that rejoicing is your natural and frequent attitude and that the distresses in your life are overshadowed by the joy of the Lord!
